DOS TACOS (A SUPER8) DOCUMENTARY IN MEXICO BY EMMANUEL ANGELAKIS

Emmanuel  Angelakis was raised on the beautiful Island of Crete in the Aegean Sea surrounded by nature, from high mountains to endless blue seas. He first started shooting with film cameras to create timeless images of a lifestyle. Surfing, dramatic landscapes and environmental portraits are his world.

Currently he is  based in NYC and shooting film exclusively. His bag is always packed with at least two of his favorite cameras, the Bronica ETRsi and his trustworthy LEICA CL.

Nowdays he is running a new project about a short travel documentary and photoshooting that will make with his friend and photographer Dacia Pierson in  the Yucatàn peninsula during a 10-day drive-through from April 26th to May 6th. The fact that Mexico is one of the most colorful and culturally rich countries on the planet made him to accept his friend’s offer to join her on this trip.

During these politically challenging times he has decided to show people how beautiful, diverse and important Mexico is in depth. When he travels he  always photographs the places that he visits because he loves taking photos and because he just like to visually remind himself and others how beautiful this world is.

“The goal is to tell a story with the use of Super8mm motion picture cameras and with photographs captured on film through analog still cameras. There is a quality to these two mediums that you cannot get with digital equipment and I am a strong believer that the results will inspire others to dust off their old cameras and put them into some fun use”, he said to Daydreamers.

He created a ‘go fund me’ campaign that will cover film and processing fees for his short Documentary as well as processing plus printing fees of his  favorite images taken on the trip which he  will try to sell and give all proceeds to a prefered organization that helps preserve our beautiful planet. *(Exhibit and Auction dates/location will be announced in the near future after the completion of his mission.)  www.gofundme.com
